Volkswagen Virtus, Taigun Get 6 Airbags as Standard

Volkswagen Virtus sedan and Taigun SUV have been updated to sport 6 airbags as standard across the range. Interestingly, this update didn’t come with a price hike which usually is the case. This update closely follows the Skoda also equipping its Kushaq and Slavia with 6 airbags as standard.

Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun Updated – Safety Enhanced at 0 Cost

Prior to the update, both the Virtus and Taigun used to get 6 airbags on the top-spec Topline trims and their respective GT variants. With this update, it will also be available in the Comfortline and Highline trims along with special edition models like the GT Edge, Sport and Sound edition.

What’s interesting is that while Skoda slightly increased the pricing of both models with the update, its sibling VW has kept the prices as it is. In fact, the entry-level Comfortline Taigun is priced at a special offer of Rs 10.99 Lakh, which is Rs 70,000 lower than the normal, although this offer is for a limited time only.

Both the Taigun and Slavia are 5-star rated by the Global NCAP, which they just achieved with their dual airbag-spec, so the addition of the 6 airbags further enhances the safety. Other safety features include a multi-collision braking system, ESC as standard, a tyre pressure monitoring system, brake assist and traction control.

The Taigun rivals like the Creta, Seltos, Elevate and Kushaq, all of which have 6 airbags as standard while the Virtus faces competition with the likes of the Verna and City.
