The S 1000 XR borrows its heart from the S 1000 RR superbike. The motor as claimed by BMW has been reworked and now produces 170 hp at 11,000 RPM and 114 Nm at 9,250 RPM, 5 hp more than the outgoing model’s engine.

The brand also claimed that the S 1000 XR is quick as well and can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.25 seconds with a top speed of 253 kph. When it comes to design, the bike now sports a body-coloured fender replacing the black-beak one with the rear part featuring new side panels and air intakes which according to BMW is inspired by motorsport.
